The Smythe family of Leland have been able to take part in this revitalization project because of their Interior Design Company and store, Lagniappe. With this store, they have taken three of the thirteen buildings, which they have purchased, and have knocked out walls to create a large space to show their décor, accessories, antiques, and design expertise. After the expansion of their own design company, they will take downtown Leland and give it the restoration it deserves. As they take on this task, multiple families have offered to help in many ways.
This revitalization will bring Leland back together as it once was many generations ago. With the talk of this project, a few restaurants, an event venue, and other places have called downtown Leland their home. This project will be the start of a new generation of downtown for Leland, Mississippi.
